NEW for 2019 AYSO Volunteers.....

1. We are now being charged $25 for every volunteer that signs up.  We ask that before you sign up that you know that you are committed for the season. If you sign up, but an unforeseen issues comes up that prevents you from volunteering, of course that is understandable.

2. There is also an EXTRA step in the application process.  AYSO National is going with a higher level of background checks and that now requires all volunteers to finish their background check outside the Blue Sombrero system.  You start with Blue S., but then Verified Volunteers (aka: Sterling Volunteers) will send you a follow up email to complete your application through their website.  This is a short process at Sterling and only takes about 5 to 7 minutes.

Register as a Volunteer for a Role.

Have your DL and SS #’s handy.

Have information for two references handy, including email addresses.

1.     Log in to your account.  IF you have not already set one up, please click "Register Now" from our home page and follow the steps.

2.     If you just set up a new account, once you have completed your information, the system should take you to a screen that gives you the   
        option to register a child or sign up as a volunteer.  Pick the picture above "I am a team coach or other team personnel", should be
the middle choice.

         If you just logged in, you are now at your home page for your account.  Click on “Register Now”.  It is towards the right, near the top.
This will open up a secondary window.

OR you may click "Volunteer" on the left.  At that page you can click "Find Volunteer Role" that is towards the upper right.

3.     Then you want to click on the picture above the words “I am a team coach or other team personnel”.

a.      Click on “Select” next to Fall 2019.

b.     Now you should be at a list that shows roles you can choose for each Division.

c.     ONLY Pick from these choices under the division that your child is playing in.  If you are coaching two teams then choose
"Head Coach" under both divisions.  If you are going to be a "Head Coach" and a "Ref", then pick both positions under your
child's division.  Basically pick all the roles you plan to hold in any of the divisions.

  1.     Head Coach

2.     Assistant Coach

3.     Ref or Youth Ref (for Youth Ref, the youth must have their own Blue S. account that the parent
must set up and then complete their application.)

4.     Other (Anyone who is Not Coaching or Reffing: Board Member)
DO NOT Sign up for Other unless you have spoke with the Regional Commissioner and have a
plan in place.

  d.     Once your role(s) is/are picked then you “Continue” to the section where you fill out your personal information and then E-Sign your Application.  Please make sure all your information is filled out properly, this helps AYSO move the process forward as
quickly as possible.

e.     Please note that the field where you enter the email address for your references is at the bottom of the page.  Please fill those out if at all possible; it really will help the Volunteer Application Process go much faster for our Board Member that handles this job.

4.  NOW new for 2019:  AYSO has increased the level of their background checks, which now has to be finished by a 3rd Party System:
Sterling Volunteers (aka: Verified Volunteers).  Same company as before, but now you will receive an email from them to set up an
outside account with them and complete your background check process.  It is an extra step, but it is quick and should be about
5 to 7 minutes.  If you DO NOT see their email in your inbox, please check your spam/junk folder.  ALSO, when signing up with Sterling,
please use the same email address you did with Blue Sombrero (also, the same email Sterling sent the email too.)
